PFD Annouces Completion of the First-in-Human iKnee Implantation

PFD Capital Partners, Inc. announced the successful completion of the first-in-human implantation of the investigational iKnee on July 31, 2026, at Prime Surgical Center of Newport Beach, marking the start of the device’s human clinical evaluation. The patient-specific implant, developed by PFD iOrthopedics from Robert Thomas Grotz, MD’s patented Resilient Arthroplasty Device (RAD) technology, is designed to preserve more of the natural knee anatomy for patients with late-stage osteoarthritis who are progressing toward total knee replacement. The procedure was performed by Dr. Christopher Woodson on Eric Hansen, PFD’s Director of Clinical Operations and Patient 01, who was discharged the same day after meeting the study’s initial mobility and weight-bearing criteria. The release also outlines the iKnee’s development, manufacturing process, surgical procedure, ongoing Comfort Study follow-up, and PFD’s broader role in supporting the advancement of the technology
