iKnee Recovery Journal (Day 13)

Recovery Day 13

Day 13 — Recovery Day 12 | Wednesday, August 12, 2026

“Well, there you are, guys! How are you doing today? It’s Wednesday the 12th, and I want to let you know what happened on this beautiful day in iKnee rehab land.

First thing to report: I started a course of Keflex, the antibiotic, since I’d developed a bit of cellulitis — skin irritation, or infection, really, since that’s what it is. The only way to clear it is with antibiotics, so I started the Keflex last night, took four doses, and when I got up this morning I felt a lot better. We weren’t sure at first whether I’d just been over-icing it or whether the infection was actually setting in.

I saw Dr. Woodson yesterday, and he pulled a good amount of fluid out of the knee, did an ultrasound, and took post-op X-rays. We actually got to see the gap between the femur and the tibia on the imaging. It was amazing to see that, and he was really pleased with it.

My range of motion was a little tight at that appointment. I’d been at the office for a bit attending a board meeting, and I think the knee got used a little more than it should have, so it was tighter than usual when I got to his office — flexion of 80 and extension of -20, so pretty tight compared to where I’d been with Clint.

I’m really happy with how the leg is responding to the Keflex. I am happy it’s not as red, happy it feels a lot better, and my mobility is improving too.

Clint came to the house today and ran through the range of motion along with all the new exercises. We got the range back up to a flexion of 85 and an extension of -18. Blood pressure was 132 over 72. That’s the rundown.

Things are getting better overall. The sensitivity in the thigh isn’t what it used to be with the Theragun. Before, it would light up almost like a network or a spiderweb of nerves running through the whole leg, almost electrical. Today when I used it, that didn’t happen, so now I can actually use the Theragun the way it’s meant to be used, working into the muscle and tendons rather than just lighting up the whole leg. We’ll go from there.

Other than that, my appetite is fine, and I’m staying on the meds. Didn’t take any Percocet last night — just the Journavx, the Aspirin, and the Keflex, and I’ll keep that same routine today.

I’m seeing Clint again tomorrow, back to back with another appointment, and then I’ll probably head over to see Maryum. All right, you guys have a great rest of your evening. Look forward to talking to you soon. Bye-bye.”
