Day 8 — Recovery Day 7 | Friday, August 7, 2026

“There you are, it’s Friday, August 7th, seven days after surgery. Actually, a week out now! That’s pretty amazing.

The week has gone by pretty fast. It’s been a great week. Today was a great day for the iKnee, and for me as a patient going through the rehab process. Clint came to the house today to take his measurements on the knee. Blood pressure first: 130 over 72, so that was good. Flexion was 82, extension was -10 — things are getting good. I’m getting progression with each visit.

Tony came out today to film Clint and the exercises we go through and the different sequences, but the good part was when he asked, “Can I put all my weight on the knee?” I said, “Well… I can. Let’s see!” So I stood on my left leg with no walker, hands in the air.

That was kind of fun. Then we did some more striding, and today was a good stride day as far as the heel-toe strike goes, I did the heel-toe strike, pushed off my toes, worked the actual motion with a lot more purpose and precision than just getting a rep in. I was taking shorter strides to really nail the mechanics on that heel-toe strike. It is very important to get that right.

Did the extension exercises, did the heel slides, ran through a bunch of things, and he worked out the thigh a little bit too. Later in the afternoon, I broke out the Theragun (a pulsing therapy gun) and just lightly hit different spots on the thigh. It was amazing: wherever I touched, it was almost like a spiderweb effect, with other parts of the leg tingling from just those light touches. I think it made a big difference. It was nice just to lay there with the leg extended and elevated, doing a little therapeutic self-massage. Really nice.

That worked out great. Had a pretty decent appetite today, and I’m trying to ease off the painkillers a bit, took half a Percocet, went to bed at a decent hour, had a good night. I’ll be checking in with you guys tomorrow, Saturday, to see how it’s going. A nice weekend at home ahead. I’ll be doing the exercises again and I’ll report back then. All right, talk to you soon. Bye-bye.”
